An internal memo from Match Group has disclosed strategies for a new team focusing on generative AI and other emerging systems. Known as the ‘Art x Science Lab’, the crew will be fashioned of engineers and designers, and led by Mark Kantor, Vice President of Innovation.

In a memo acquired by Mashable, Will Wu, Match Group’s Chief Engineering Officer, highlighted that the name ‘Art x Science Lab’ can be shortened to ASL. This is an homage to the common online chatting acronym for “age/intercourse/location’

The multi-that means title “serves as a reminder of how drastically electronic relationships have transformed in just a handful of decades, and emboldens us to imagine significant as we go after transformative effects in the many years ahead”, Wu wrote.

In charge of this new team is Mark Kantor, who has expertise acquiring AI products for retail investors and escalating video activity developers. 

In the company’s recent Q2 letter to shareholders, it highlighted that it would be retaining an eye on AI and other progressive technologies. Match Group shared that this innovation would arrive “with a concentration on authenticity and retaining foremost thing to consider to ethical and privacy standards”.

The Hyperconnect brand was also talked about as a resource of tech progress, with the Asia-based organisation delivering “a huge workforce of gifted AI engineers which we’re leveraging to generate a quantity of critical AI-connected initiatives throughout the portfolio”, the letter shared.
